Stephanie Nelson
Chief Operating Officer, SHRM-CP
Stephanie Nelson serves as Chief Operations Officer for The Accountancy. Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Southern California. During her time at USC, she also worked for the university as an Event Manager, planning large-scale events for donors. Upon graduating, Stephanie traveled the world as a Sales Manager for an international cruise line. After returning to the United States in 2009, Stephanie began working in operational management in diverse fields such as healthcare, entertainment, legal recruiting — and, now, accounting.
At The Accountancy, she is responsible for management of day-to-day operations, human resources, firm accounting and budgeting, technology, and marketing. In 2019, she earned her certification from the Society for Human Resources Management. She also has a background in graphic design, web development and data science. She is passionate about making businesses more efficient so people can focus on the best use of their talents and the aspects of their careers they love most.
In her free time, Stephanie volunteers with several non-profit organizations including Heal the Bay, Friends of the LA River, and TreePeople. She is also Vice President of the USC Alumni Club of San Fernando Valley which provides scholarship opportunities to students in the area, and serves as a mentor for Mayor Garcetti’s WiSTEM program. She is an avid hiker and nature photographer.
